Regenerative energy from biogas

The number of inhabitants in London has risen by about 20 percent in the last 20 years - and so has the demand for electricity accordingly. A biogas plant with up to 1.5 megawatt power should cover the energy requirement of thousands of households. SPANGLER carried out the automation of this plant.

British standards made in Bavaria

In conventional biogas plants, gas is produced by fermenting corn or grass. This system, however, is fed with food waste – which is an ecologically smarter solution for conditions in a metropolis. The plant and controller were designed according to the British standards from the outset, in order to meet the country-specific requirements.

Compact control unit

The extensive package of automation solutions includes data exchange with a CHP to regulate the gas flow. SPANGLER Automation had already assembled the entire control hardware, in order to keep the installation time and commissioning effort low.
