Töging, September 1, 2026 – Six young people are starting their careers at Spangler Automation, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives.

On Tuesday, September 1, five new apprentices and a student on a dual study programme in Electrical and Information Technology started their careers at Spangler Automation. Their first day was all about settling in and getting to know the company and their new colleagues: new faces, exciting first impressions and plenty of information about their apprenticeships and the company.

Structured Training for the Best Possible Development

“Our apprentice as office management assistant will rotate through several departments during her apprenticeship. Our four apprentices as electronics technicians for automation and systems technology will initially complete a six-week intensive training programme. This provides them with important fundamentals before they go on to develop further technical expertise in our specialist departments and contribute to projects,” explains Training Manager Teresa Wittmann.

With its structured training programme, Spangler Automation ensures that apprentices acquire comprehensive professional skills in their respective occupations while receiving the best possible support for their development. Spangler also offers all apprentices aged 18 and over the opportunity to complete a four-week work placement in Ireland. The placement is planned in close consultation with the apprentices and gives them valuable international experience.

A Future with Prospects

An apprenticeship at Spangler offers excellent prospects for a secure future. “Almost 40% of our current employees started their careers with an apprenticeship at the company,” says Managing Director Christian Brandmüller, highlighting the importance of vocational training at Spangler Automation.

“Exciting projects and a positive working environment mean that many apprentices are happy to stay with Spangler after completing their training – and from there, career development within the company often follows naturally,” says Johannes Baier, who is now a Team Leader and Deputy Head of the Technical Department, describing his own career path. He also began his professional career with an apprenticeship at Spangler and has remained with the company ever since.

Töging, August 5, 2026 – SPANGLER GmbH has been awarded the Silver Certificate for Occupational Health Management by AOK in recognition of its systematic commitment to employee health. The certificate was presented by Gerhard Lindner, Director of AOK Regensburg, during a ceremony at the company’s site in Töging.

The certification followed several months of intensive preparation and a series of workshops conducted in cooperation with AOK. At the same time, Monika Ruppert successfully completed AOK’s training program to become a certified Occupational Health Management Specialist. Drawing on the expertise gained through this qualification, she now supports and coordinates the ongoing strategic development of SPANGLER’s Occupational Health Management system.

As part of a comprehensive audit, the company’s existing structures, processes, and health promotion initiatives were thoroughly evaluated. The audit report highlights SPANGLER’s Occupational Health Management as being highly professional, practical, resource-efficient, and sustainable. It also commends the company’s well-structured health initiatives for being closely aligned with employees’ needs and tailored to specific target groups.

“This award confirms that our commitment to the health of our employees is heading in the right direction,” says Managing Director Tina Lambert. “At the same time, it motivates us to continue developing and improving our Occupational Health Management on an ongoing basis.”

Promoting employee health has a long tradition at SPANGLER. The company introduced its original Fitness Program as early as 2007, which has since evolved into today’s comprehensive Benefits Plus Program. “The health and well-being of our employees have been a priority for many years,” explains Authorized Officer Cornelia Hofmann. “Through initiatives such as gym membership subsidies, company bike leasing, subsidized lunches, health campaigns, height-adjustable desks, and safe driving courses, we aim to promote health and well-being sustainably in everyday working life.”

Occupational Health Management extends far beyond individual health promotion measures. It establishes long-term, sustainable structures within the company by integrating health promotion, occupational safety, human resources management, and health-oriented leadership, thereby embedding employee health firmly into the corporate culture.

By awarding the Silver Certificate, AOK recognizes SPANGLER’s achievements to date and confirms the high quality of the company’s Occupational Health Management system. SPANGLER remains committed to this path and will continue to develop its health initiatives in line with employees’ needs in the years ahead.

Töging, 10. July 2026 – SPANGLER GmbH recently hosted a comprehensive training exercise for the Töging Volunteer Fire Department at its company premises. Around 15 firefighters, supported by several volunteers, took part in the exercise, which was led by Fire Chief Florian Fritz.

The exercise began with the installation of a water supply line from the Altmühl River to the company building to simulate a realistic firefighting water supply. This was followed by a breathing apparatus drill, during which four teams of two firefighters each searched the building for a missing person. Adding to the realism of the exercise was 12-year-old Leonie, who took on the role of the missing person with great enthusiasm and remarkable composure, enabling the emergency crews to train under highly realistic conditions.

With midsummer temperatures placing considerable physical demands on everyone involved, a well-earned ice cream break provided a welcome opportunity to cool down and recharge before the exercise continued. The next training scenario focused on fall protection, using ladders and rope safety equipment. The practical part of the exercise concluded with a detailed tour of the company premises, allowing the firefighters to familiarize themselves with the site and its facilities, an important step in ensuring an effective response in the event of a real emergency.

After the equipment had been packed away, the hoses hung up to dry, and everyone had changed out of their protective gear, the day concluded in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants enjoyed a barbecue featuring steaks, sausages, potato salad, and coleslaw, expertly prepared by Trattner Catering, providing an excellent opportunity for informal exchange and camaraderie.

SPANGLER would like to sincerely thank the Töging Volunteer Fire Department for its dedication and commitment. Particularly noteworthy is that several of the firefighters are also employees of SPANGLER, reflecting the close relationship between the company and the local fire department.

Despite the intense heat, everyone involved worked with outstanding focus, professionalism, and impressive team spirit. Training exercises like these are essential to ensure that emergency services can respond quickly, safely, and effectively when every second counts.

“We are very grateful to have such an active and highly trained fire department located so close to our company. Their commitment deserves our utmost respect and appreciation. At the same time, we sincerely hope that we will never need their assistance in a real emergency at our site,” said Tina Lambert, Managing Director of SPANGLER GmbH, who personally attended the exercise.

The training exercise even had one unexpected beneficiary: the fish in the company’s pond, which happily received an extra supply of fresh water.

Töging, July 3, 2026 – SPANGLER Automation celebrated its 45th anniversary with a large family day for employees, their families, former managing directors, and retired colleagues. Around 260 guests, including more than 50 children, attended the event. The celebration was not only an opportunity to look back on a successful company history, but above all to celebrate what has defined SPANGLER for 45 years: team spirit and a strong sense of community.

Forty-five years ago, Franz Spangler founded the company, laying the foundation for what is now SPANGLER Automation. Following his sudden passing in 2003, his wife and her brother continued to lead the family business with great dedication. Today, the company employs around 160 people and is recognized as an innovative provider of automation technology. With tailor-made solutions for a wide range of industries, SPANGLER stands for technical expertise, sustainable growth, and a strong corporate culture.

Families – An Important Part of the Company’s Success

“45 years of SPANGLER means 45 years of ideas, commitment, technological innovation, and above all, the people who have shaped our company and continue to do so today,” the management said in its welcome address. The family day also served as a heartfelt thank-you to all employees and their families, whose support has made a significant contribution to the company’s success.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look

Many family members took the opportunity to visit the workplaces of their loved ones and gain a behind-the-scenes insight during guided company tours. Children were able to experience where their parents work, while former colleagues enjoyed reconnecting and sharing memories of their time at SPANGLER.

Team Spirit Beyond the Workplace

With company tours, a children’s entertainment program, football darts, a photo booth, coffee and cake, and a shared evening buffet, the event offered many opportunities for conversations and personal encounters. Once again, the event highlighted what has distinguished SPANGLER for the past 45 years: strong team spirit, trust, and a culture of mutual appreciation.

A Heartfelt Thank You

With this family day marking its 45th anniversary, SPANGLER expressed its sincere gratitude to all employees for their commitment, trust, and loyalty.

The company also extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Special appreciation goes to SV Töging for providing the sports facilities, the Töging Cultural Association for supporting the beverage service, St. Bartholomäus Kindergarten for organizing the wonderful children’s activities, Tratner Butchery, all supporting partners, and the entire organizing team.

The anniversary impressively demonstrated what has sustained SPANGLER for the past 45 years—and what will continue to define the company in the future: reliability, a strong sense of community, and deep roots in the region.

The management team and former senior management addressed the guests with personal remarks, reflecting on the company’s development and the significance of the anniversary celebration.

The anniversary cake added a special touch to the celebration. The younger guests were not forgotten either: football darts, a craft and face-painting station, and glitter tattoos provided plenty of fun and entertainment.

Töging, June 1, 2026 – International knowledge transfer between universities, industry and automation technology: How are the skilled professionals of tomorrow being prepared for the challenges of an increasingly connected and global industry? What role do international partnerships play in driving innovation in automation technology? And how can successful transfer between academic education and industrial practice be achieved?

These questions were the focus of a special visit to Spangler GmbH in Töging. Together with Michael Jeschke, Vice President of EPLAN USA, professors, research associates, a doctoral candidate and around 20 students from Purdue University visited the Bavarian family-owned company to gain insights into modern automation solutions, international project work and current developments in engineering. Purdue University, located in the U.S. state of Indiana, is one of North America’s leading technical universities and enjoys an international reputation, particularly in the fields of engineering, technology and industrial research. As part of a trip to Germany, the delegation visited selected industrial companies as well as the EPLAN Next 26 event in Munich.

International Markets as Part of Everyday Business

For Spangler, the visit was far more than a traditional company tour. As an internationally active automation partner, the company has been developing and implementing customized solutions for mechanical and plant engineering for more than four decades. Spangler supports customers from planning and project engineering through software development and control cabinet construction to installation, commissioning and service. Projects have already been successfully implemented in more than 45 countries. The discussions focused on current developments in the automation industry, the requirements of international markets and the increasing digitalization of engineering and production processes.

The guests gained practical insights into real customer projects and the challenges involved in implementing complex automation solutions for different countries and industries. International collaboration has been an essential part of our business for many years. Exchange with universities, students and technology partners opens up new perspectives and provides valuable inspiration for the further development of technologies, processes and skills,” explains Christian Brandmüller from the management team of Spangler GmbH.

When Science Meets Industrial Practice

A particular added value of the visit lay in the direct dialogue between academia and practice. The students used the opportunity to exchange ideas with specialists from engineering, project management and automation technology and to gain insight into the requirements of international industrial projects. It became clear how closely technological innovation, economic conditions and global collaboration are interconnected today. Topics such as engineering standards, digital processes, automation concepts and international customer requirements were just as much in focus as the question of which skills will be required in technical professions in the future.

Practical Insights into Global Projects

At Spangler, the international perspective plays a central role not only in project business, but also in training. For many years, the company has invested specifically in the development of young skilled professionals and enables its apprentices, among other things, to complete internships abroad lasting several weeks in order to gain international experience, improve their language skills and strengthen their intercultural competence. For Teresa Wittmann, who organized and accompanied the visit and is responsible at Spangler for training and student support, among other areas, these encounters are an important part of modern workforce development: “Especially for students, it is valuable to experience industrial practice outside their own university environment. The discussions showed how important direct exchange between academia and companies is for the development of future tech

Networks Create the Future

The visit by Purdue University underlines the growing importance of international networks for innovation, workforce development and technology transfer. At a time when industrial value chains are becoming increasingly globally interconnected, exchange between universities, industrial companies and technology partners is gaining further significance. For Spangler, this dialogue is an important building block for absorbing new impulses, integrating international perspectives and actively helping to shape the transfer of knowledge between academia and industrial practice. The company intends to further expand this path in the future and continue offering students, researchers and educational institutions from around the world insights into the practical application of modern automation technology.

Töging, April 14, 2026 – Once again, the team from SPANGLER Automation visited the primary and middle school in Dietfurt, introducing around 60 third-grade students to the world of electrical engineering. As part of the “Children’s University,” technology was brought to life where it has the greatest impact: directly in the classroom.

Following an age-appropriate introduction to electricity – covering both its benefits and potential dangers – the students had the opportunity to get hands-on. With great enthusiasm, they built their own voltage and continuity testers and then used them to explore which materials conduct electricity – and which do not. Their curiosity was evident throughout. The self-built testers were sponsored by SPANGLER and could be taken home by the children.

The event was supported, among others, by Johanna Liebl, training supervisor at SPANGLER. She completed her own apprenticeship as an electronics technician at the company and now works in the service team. Through her involvement, she aims to spark young people’s interest in technical careers at an early stage and to showcase the wide range of opportunities in automation technology.

“Bright eyes and great curiosity show us time and again: technology inspires – especially when you can discover it yourself,” was the conclusion of the SPANGLER team. The Children’s University is part of SPANGLER’s commitment to promoting young talent. The goal is to spark early interest in STEM subjects and to reduce barriers or hesitation toward technology. After all, the foundation for future career paths is often laid at a young age.

The underlying concept is simple yet effective: in sessions lasting about one hour, children aged 8 to 9 learn in a playful way where electricity comes from, how it is used, and what risks need to be considered.

Töging, March 10, 2026 – From March 9 to 12, the health of employees is the focus at SPANGLER GmbH: As part of a Health Week, the company is offering a wide range of activities centered on physical activity, nutrition, stress management, and mental well-being. The initiative is organized in cooperation with the health insurance providers AOK and Audi BKK, as well as catering partner Hofmann, who is offering a healthy tasting menu.

“Our health is our most valuable asset – and healthy, motivated employees are the foundation of our shared success,” emphasizes Managing Director Tina Lambert. The aim of the Health Week is to provide inspiration for a healthier everyday life and to strengthen awareness of personal well-being.

The program includes a wide range of activities and information sessions. These include mobility analyses using the Mobee® Fit measurement system, back exercises with the resistance band, stress measurements to analyze heart rate variability, and a medical body analysis to determine body and visceral fat.

The focus is particularly on hands-on workshops and short training sessions. Each day is dedicated to a different health topic – from movement and back exercises to a cooking workshop and training on healthy sleep. In addition, partners provide information on various health topics, and an exhibition on the immune system is also on display. For moments of relaxation, a VR headset allows participants to immerse themselves in a virtual world for a few minutes. The Challenge Disc also provides extra movement and a dose of friendly competition, bringing fun and motivation to many employees.

With the Health Week, SPANGLER Automation aims not only to inform but above all to encourage employees to actively take care of their own health. At the same time, the initiative marks the company’s entry into a structured corporate health management program. SPANGLER is currently working on establishing a strategic and long-term occupational health management system designed to sustainably strengthen the health and well-being of its employees. The goal is to systematically integrate health topics into the company – from prevention and physical activity to mental health.

Health promotion has long been a high priority at SPANGLER. In addition to regular health initiatives, the company provides height-adjustable desks for all employees, an active lunch break program, a consciously healthy cafeteria offering, a company bike program, and supplementary company health insurance. With the introduction of structured corporate health management, these measures will be further consolidated and expanded in the future – with the goal of sustainably promoting employees’ health, motivation, and performance.

Töging, 15 January 2026 – The Christmas donation campaign has been a long-standing tradition at SPANGLER Automation. In 2025, employees once again joined forces to support a good cause.

The campaign is organized entirely by the workforce: employees submit donation proposals, vote on them, and then fill a donation box at the company over a period of two weeks.

This year, the majority of employees chose to support a family from the region whose daughter has been suffering from severe ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome) since March 2022 – a serious form of long or post-COVID. For around two years, the young woman has been largely confined to a completely darkened room. ME/CFS is currently considered incurable and remains insufficiently researched.

In addition to providing financial support, the SPANGLER workforce also aims to raise awareness of the situation faced by many people affected by this condition. The family itself is actively involved in promoting greater awareness and research into ME/CFS.

At the beginning of the new year, the collected donation amount of €425 was presented to the young woman’s mother during a personal handover at the company. With this initiative, the workforce sends a clear message of solidarity, social commitment, and strong regional ties.

Mallerstetten, December 12, 2025 – In a festive setting, Spangler GmbH honored long-serving employees who have shaped the company over many years with their dedication and commitment.

A total of 13 employees were recognized for their long-standing service, together contributing an impressive 270 years of experience, expertise, and dedication to the company. The honorees look back on 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, or even 40 years with Spangler – a testament to loyalty and continuous professional development.

Honoring Long-Serving Employees

Surrounded by department heads as well as the honorees themselves, Managing Partner Tina Lambert presented the awards to this year’s jubilarians. At the heart of the ceremony were individual tributes in which Lambert highlighted each employee’s personal career path and achievements. These words of appreciation were accompanied by images from past years shown on a large screen. “Today is a very special day, as we celebrate some of our long-serving employees who have remained loyal to our company for many years. It is a great pleasure for us to honor your achievements together and to extend our sincere thanks to each and every one of you,” Lambert emphasized in her address.

Jubilarians Shape the Company – Past, Present, and Future

The longest-serving employee, Helmut Weigl, has played a particularly significant role in the company’s history for 40 years – having started as an apprentice, he went on to become Head of the IT Department and has been a constant and valued presence at Spangler for decades. Martina Glas, Thomas Neger, and Hubert Rackl were honored for an outstanding 35 years of service. All award recipients stand as symbols of the stability, team spirit, and expertise that have defined Spangler for decades. They have helped shape the company and continue to play a key role in ensuring that Spangler is today one of the high-performing partners in the field of automation technology.

Innovation Award Winners and Christmas Celebration

The festive event also marked the ceremonial opening of the subsequent Christmas celebration with the presentation of the 2025 Innovation Awards. Employees were recognized for their outstanding ideas that provide fresh impetus and enrich the company with practical, forward-looking solutions. “I am impressed by the commitment and innovative spirit with which you help shape our company,” said Managing Director Christian Brandmüller during the award ceremony. These creative impulses are crucial to ensuring that Spangler can continue to respond with strength and focus to developments in markets and technologies in the future.

Christmas Celebration as a Festive Conclusion

The Christmas celebration for the entire workforce took place at Gasthaus Freihart in Mallerstetten. In a festive atmosphere, everyone came together to round off the year with good conversations, a warm sense of togetherness, and a wonderful mood – a fitting conclusion to a successful year and a moment to celebrate community and gratitude.

Looking ahead to the upcoming anniversary year 2026 – when Spangler will celebrate its 45th anniversary – the company looks to the future with confidence: driven by ideas, energy, and the people who make it all possible.

Töging, 19. November 2025. – Today, Spangler GmbH once again hosted its popular Kids Day, an exciting event giving the children of Spangler employees a lively behind-the-scenes look at their parents’ workplace.

Around 20 children aged six to twelve spent Buß- und Bettag — a school-free day when parents still have to work — enjoying a memorable and activity-packed day at Spangler. Curious and enthusiastic, they were able to playfully explore the world of automation technology and even get hands-on themselves.

Exciting electrotechnical experiments
Together with the apprentices, the children built small technical projects such as a brush-mounted electric motor, a voltage tester, and the classic dexterity game “Hot Wire.” Fun movement challenges and a lively quiz put their team spirit to the test before everyone recharged with a shared pizza lunch after a photo session.

A tour through the entire company
One highlight of the day was the tour of the production facilities, where the young guests could try out many stations themselves: sitting on a forklift, drilling, completing their first wiring tasks, and weighing themselves together in the warehouse at the end. There was amazement, laughter, and learning at every stop. The children also had the opportunity to visit their parents at their workstations.

Closing the childcare gap
“Kids Day was an outstanding success – the children had a fantastic time, and for many parents it was a great relief to have reliable childcare on a school-free day,” said Cornelia Hofmann, member of the management team.

Spangler Kids Day is a clear reflection of the company’s commitment to family-friendliness and to fostering a healthy work–life balance — an area in which Spangler has already earned several awards. Initiatives like this show that youth development and family awareness are firmly rooted in the company culture — and perhaps among today’s excited participants were the skilled specialists of tomorrow.

September 1, 2025, Töging. An apprenticeship remains a solid foundation for a successful career – a belief firmly held at Spangler Automation in Töging. That’s why, once again this year, eight young people have begun their professional journey with the company.

With a total of eight new apprentices, the group of young talents taking their first step toward a career continues to grow. The newcomers will acquire in-depth expertise in various fields – for example as electronics technicians for automation and systems technology, media designer, or dual student. With this broad range of training paths, Spangler ensures that each individual’s strengths are developed in the best possible way to prepare them for their future professional challenges.

Evolving professions

“Our industry is changing rapidly – automation, digitalization, and artificial intelligence are constantly presenting us with new challenges. This makes it all the more important to give young people the opportunity to develop and grow with us,” emphasizes Managing Director Tina Lambert, who personally welcomed the new apprentices.

A strong theoretical foundation

After an initial introduction, the apprentices complete a six-week intensive training program that combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises. This foundation paves the way for their further training, during which they will soon take on responsibility and carry out their own projects. Many apprentices also seize the opportunity to gain international experience through a one-month internship abroad.

Training with prospects

Spangler Automation places great importance on offering young people genuine opportunities for the future. Many of today’s experienced specialists and managers began their careers as apprentices at Spangler themselves. “Anyone who starts with us not only receives solid training but also has exciting career prospects – from becoming a specialist to leading entire projects,” says Teresa Wittmann, head of training.

28.07.2025, Töging. The family-owned company Spangler was honored with the prestigious Bavarian SME Award on Friday in Munich. It’s not the first major award for the Töging-based firm.

SPANGLER GMBH received the renowned Bavarian SME Award 2025 on Friday in Munich. The award recognizes outstanding medium-sized enterprises that excel through innovation, resilience, sustainability, and employer attractiveness – and this year, SPANGLER is among the distinguished recipients.

Technology that moves people forward

As an owner-managed company specializing in automation solutions, SPANGLER is based in Dietfurt an der Altmühl, Bavaria. With a strong commitment to technology, progress, and responsibility, the company has demonstrated for decades how medium-sized businesses can operate at the highest level – down-to-earth yet future-focused.

What once began with control systems is today a digitally connected technology company with around 150 employees – specializing in forward-looking control and digitalization solutions for a wide range of industrial sectors. SPANGLER networks industrial systems worldwide, enables secure remote access, conducts virtual commissioning using digital twins, integrates AI into manufacturing processes, and ensures IT security. Its solutions are used in key industries such as environmental technology, green hydrogen production, the food and pharmaceutical sectors, and the recycling and raw materials industries. The portfolio also includes customer-specific test systems and testing stands for rail transport. Together with innovative medium-sized partners – so-called hidden champions – SPANGLER is actively shaping the industry of tomorrow.

“Doing business with values“– A Bavarian recipe for success

“This award is a confirmation of our approach: we do business not only successfully, but also responsibly – for our employees, our customers, and our region,” emphasizes the Managing Director Tina Lambert of SPANGLER GMBH. “This award honors exactly what drives us every day – to show that medium-sized businesses, through dedicated employees, lived values, and shared goals, can unleash tremendous power for innovation, stability, and social responsibility.”

Jury highlights capacity for ongoing development

The jury particularly praised SPANGLER’s ability to anticipate market changes at an early stage and to consistently invest in the further development of processes and products. Future viability is seen as the result of a holistic process that not only includes the latest technology but also actively involves employees in developing new solutions.

The company’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility was also recognized. Targeted use of resources, educational partnerships, and a vibrant corporate culture with a focus on long-term qualification and training of the employees underline the company’s exemplary role.

About the “Bayerischer Mittelstandspreis”

The Bavarian SME Award is presented annually under the patronage of the President of the Bavarian State Parliament and the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs. Its aim is to honor medium-sized companies that stand out through excellent management, a spirit of innovation, and social responsibility.

April 25, 2025, Töging. Exactly one year ago, Spangler GmbH was recognized by the Bavarian State Government as a “Blooming Business” – a visible sign of its commitment to ecological corporate management. Now, the Töging-based company takes stock and looks ahead to new projects in 2025.

“Actually, the goals of the Blooming Business project have guided us for much longer,” reports Managing Director Tina Lambert. Since 2019, Spangler has pursued the vision of designing the approximately 14,000 square meter company premises close to nature – with the aim of creating habitats for insects, birds, and small animals. Back then, the first natural area was created with great commitment. “As a regionally rooted company, it was clear to us: we want this recognition – for our employees, for the environment, and for our home,” says Lambert.

A long road to recognition

In the years that followed, Spangler implemented numerous measures: an insect hotel was built, flowering strips with regionally typical plants were created, and even a special sandpit for lizards was established. Since 2023, the site has also hosted two beehives maintained by a company employee. The honey produced there was distributed to customers and colleagues as a tasty and sustainable promotional gift.

Learning, even after the award

In 2024, the company’s efforts were finally rewarded – the “Blooming Business” award was officially presented.

But the company is not content with what has been achieved. “We see our previous steps as a beginning – not an end,” Lambert emphasizes. Important impulses also came from outside: Ralf Bundesmann from the Neumarkt County Landscape Conservation Association visited Spangler as part of a course on natural fruit tree pruning. He provided practical tips – for example, on how to properly equip the insect hotel. “Sharp-edged bricks can injure the wings of insects,” says Bundesmann. His recommendation: hardwood with holes drilled across the grain – a safer alternative.

Fruit tree pruning for old varieties

He also paid special attention to the approximately 50 fruit trees on the company premises. In a course, he shared valuable knowledge on the proper training cuts for old varieties. This not only improved the care of the trees but also raised ecological awareness within the company.

Plans for the future

Nature benefits not only animals and plants, but also the workforce. As part of the greening measures, the outdoor areas for employees were significantly upgraded: an outdoor meeting area, a barbecue corner, and pleasant staff areas now offer new quality of stay and promote well-being in the workplace.

Further measures are already planned for 2025: the existing hedges are to be supplemented with thorny shrubs to provide safe retreats for birds. The so-called “lizard castle” is to be expanded and optimized. And Spangler also wants to support native bird species – for the “Bird of the Year 2025”, the black redstart, special nesting boxes were acquired to create new breeding sites.

Long-term attractive working conditions

“Our overarching strategy is to create attractive working conditions in the long term,” Lambert concludes. “This of course includes modern and well-equipped workspaces indoors – but also a pleasant environment outdoors. We deliberately think across generations: what we create today should still exist tomorrow.”

With this holistic approach, Spangler also wants to continue contributing to combining ecological responsibility with business sustainability – and gradually transforming the company premises into a diverse habitat.

April 1, 2025, Töging. A strong economy needs strong ties with local politics – this was the key takeaway from the visit of the Dietfurt city council to Spangler in Töging.

After a warm welcome from the management team – Tina Lambert, Christian Brandmüller, and Cornelia Hofmann – the company was introduced through a presentation. With over 500 projects in around 50 countries annually, more than 1,100 control cabinets produced each year, and a broad technological portfolio, SPANGLER is considered one of the innovative players in the field of automation technology.

Regional Commitment

The company’s community engagement in the region was also highlighted. SPANGLER traditionally employs many apprentices and supports professional development through targeted programs such as international internships and in-house training. The company is also regularly involved in supporting local clubs and volunteer efforts – whether through financial assistance for football clubs, releasing employees for fire service duties, or participating in cultural events like the local fair.

AI as a Key Topic for the Future

A special highlight of the program was a presentation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the company by AI Consultant Michael Müller from AIM-Beratung GmbH. SPANGLER is already integrating modern AI technologies such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Perplexity. Around 70 employees actively use these tools in their daily work – and the number is growing. The goal is to make processes more efficient and ease the workload of employees. The political guests showed great interest as well – especially in terms of potential municipal applications. Topics discussed ranged from automated tenders to new challenges like AI-based fraud attempts.

Final Tour

The visit concluded with a company tour, giving the city council members a behind-the-scenes look – from digitized processes to the in-house infrastructure for sustainable energy generation. The visit wrapped up in a relaxed atmosphere with an informal get-together.

December 13, 2024, Mallerstetten. In a festive setting, Spangler GmbH honored long-standing employees for their impressive loyalty to the company.

The awards were presented by Managing Partner Tina Lambert and marked the celebratory start of the subsequent Christmas party. A total of 13 colleagues were recognized for their many years of service – a testament to their remarkable loyalty and commitment.

An Invaluable Wealth of Knowledge

The honored employees bring together many years of expertise, forming an invaluable wealth of knowledge. “Each and every one of you has contributed in your own way over the years to making Spangler what it is today,” emphasized Tina Lambert in her speech. Lambert was particularly pleased to recognize her fellow managing director, Christian Brandmüller, for his 30 years of service.

Personal Tributes for Each Honoree

Each honoree received a personalized tribute during the event, creating an atmosphere of appreciation and recognition. Awards were presented for service durations ranging from 10 to 30 years.

Celebrating Innovation: Honoring the Innovation Award Winners

In addition to the long-standing employees, this year’s innovation award winners were also honored. Managing Director Christian Brandmüller presented the awards and highlighted the importance of creativity and innovation: “Having the right ideas at the right time is crucial to ensuring that Spangler remains successful in the future.”

Christmas Celebration as a Festive Conclusion

Following the awards, the Christmas celebration provided another reason for all employees to celebrate. A review of the 2024 business year revealed promising prospects for 2025. “We are experiencing a very strong order intake,” emphasized Managing Director Christian Brandmüller. The key sectors driving growth include environmental technology, renewable energy, the raw materials industry, and the food industry. Spangler GmbH sees significant opportunities in the automation and digitalization of these industries, which are not only economically promising but also socially forward-looking.

November 20, 2024, Töging – Today, Spangler GmbH once again hosted the Kids Day in Töging, a special event that offers employees’ children an exciting glimpse into their parents’ working world.

This year, 28 enthusiastic children participated, eagerly exploring the world of automation technology. The Spangler Kids Day is a wonderful example to the company’s commitment to family friendliness and work-life balance, an area where Spangler has received multiple awards

Fun, Games, and Learning

After a warm welcome, the Kids Day kicked off with an energetic game of movement bingo and a quiz that the children enthusiastically joined. They then enjoyed a light breakfast snack – the perfect start to the exciting day ahead.
The first highlight was an engaging workshop where the children, guided by apprentices, explored the fascinating world of electricity. With patience and expertise, the aspiring electronics technicians for automation and system technology taught the young participants the safe handling of electricity. During the workshop, the children built a brush motor and a voltage tester. A pizza break provided all the little explorers with the energy to continue their journey.

Work and Family – A Strong Connection

“We want to show our employees that families are not only welcome at Spangler but are a central part of our corporate culture,” emphasized Cornelia Hofmann, a member of the management team.
The day concluded with another highlight: a visit to the parents’ workplaces. The children had the chance to see firsthand where their parents spend much of their time and even got to sit on a forklift.
With glowing eyes and countless new impressions, the young visitors bid farewell – marking the Spangler Kids Day 2024 as a resounding success.

03.09.2024, Töging. September 1 marks not only the beginning of autumn but also the start of a promising future for a new generation of apprentices at Spangler.

Once again this year, the company sends a clear message: training remains a key cornerstone for securing skilled workers, particularly in the fields of automation and digitalization.
“We are excited to welcome the new apprentices who are starting their career path today,” said Managing Director Tina Lambert. “Automation is a key field for the future, and it will continue to grow in the coming years. Training young talents in these areas is a crucial step to ensuring our competitiveness for the future.”

Innovative training

The company makes efforts that go beyond traditional vocational training; for example offering every apprentice the opportunity to broaden their horizons abroad.

“A strong group needs a strong foundation, and that foundation is our dedicated and well-trained team of instructors,” emphasized Teresa Wittmann, Head of Training at Spangler. “This year, in addition to six electronic technicians, also two apprentices as office clerk will start, who will face demanding tasks.”

Shaping technology

Training in professions like Electronics Technician for Automation and System Technology (m/f/d) continues to be future-proof. “Our training programs offer young people a clear perspective and the opportunity to learn AI-supported programming today,” said Teresa Wittmann.

The eight new apprentices, who are beginning their training today, can look forward to a comprehensive program in the coming weeks, where they will learn their profession from the ground up. To ensure a smooth transition into the professional world, the curriculum includes not only practical exercises but also field trips to clients.

Key to a successful future

Even after completing their apprenticeships, the future specialists can expect exciting tasks. Projects from around the world are waiting to be tackled by the specialists from Töging. Whether as designers, programmers, in service, or production, Spangler offers excellent career prospects in a great working environment.

11.06.2024, Töging. Spangler has been awarded the “Blühender Betrieb” (Blooming Company) award. The prize was presented in recognition of the company’s active commitment of biodiversity and environmental protection on its premises, marking significant recognition for its sustainable efforts within the framework of the “Blühpakt Bayern” (Bavarian Blooming Pact).

Managing Director Tina Lambert, who continues her family’s legacy, considers this project a heartfelt mission: “Participating in the Blühpakt Bayern is a commitment to future generations. We want to provide our employees with a sustainable workplace, not just for the present, but see today’s award as a progress report. In the future, we will implement additional measures to promote biodiversity.”

Mayor Bernd Mayr emphasized Spangler’s role model function for the Dietfurt municipality: “After the town of Dietfurt was already honored by the Blühpakt Bayern, we are pleased that Spangler now receives this distinction. We hope this model will inspire other local companies to follow similar paths.”

Dagmar Schmitt from the Bavarian State Ministry for Environment and Consumer Protection highlighted the urgency of environmental action: “Species extinction is one of the greatest threats to our global community. Initiatives like Spangler’s significantly contribute to protecting biodiversity and securing our livelihoods. It is important to develop a new understanding of environmental protection – an insect-friendly meadow is by no means neglected, but rather a sign of responsibility.”

The project includes the creation and maintenance of blooming meadows, the planting of fruit trees, and the establishment of habitats for bees and lizards on the company’s premises in the Altmühltal Nature Park. Through these measures, Spangler actively supports the ecological balance. In line with their commitment to promoting sustainable practices, numerous initiatives have been implemented on the company’s premises with the enthusiastic support of employees:

Fruit trees and blooming meadows provide habitat and food for a variety of species.

Beehives support the ecological balance through pollination.

Lizard mounds offer protected breeding areas.

Insect hotels and deadwood create habitats for insects and microorganisms.

Bird protection hedges and a pond promote biodiversity and serve as natural windbreaks and privacy screens.

For years, Spangler has been using geothermal and photovoltaic systems for energy production, significantly reducing their CO2 footprint. Since its founding, Spangler has been committed to innovative solutions that both protect the environment and improve working conditions for employees.

At the event, contributions from Regens Wagner were also recognized, whose “Green Thumb” team played a key role in the design and maintenance of the green spaces. Franz Hausner and Jürgen Mödl informed guests about the importance of such projects for companies’ social and environmental responsibility.

As a token of appreciation, each guest received a jar of freshly bottled SPANGLER honey, produced by the company’s own bee colonies.

12.03.2024, Töging. With five talented electronic technicians, a new generation of electronics experts has finished their apprenticeships. These young professionals have completed their training with outstanding achievements and are starting their careers in the exciting and ever-evolving world of electrical engineering.

“We are pleased to celebrate five successful graduations again. Three of our trainees even received recognition for their performance with particularly good grades in vocational school,” says Managing Director Tina Lambert. The five skilled workers have not only acquired deep technical knowledge and practical skills during their apprenticeship but also gained valuable experience in a work environment that offers good working conditions. “Spangler places great emphasis on creating a work environment that is both productive and pleasant,” Lambert explains. “We firmly believe that good working conditions are just as important as hard work and commitment. The good results once again proved this.”
