Waste glass must be cleaned, sieved, weighed and ground in various steps to grind it to finest glass powder. We were commissioned to design and carry out the automation of a new glass grinding plant. The mining of metal ores is a cleaning-intensive process. Take, for example, the large, open-pit Cerro Verde mine near the Peruvian city of Arequipa. The copper mine produces around 270,000 tonnes of copper ore and 6,500 tonnes of molybdenum annually. Recycling remains a trump card in glass processing. There are around 250,000 glass containers in Germany, and up to 85% of new bottles are produced from recycled material. We have automated a system for particularly "motley" collections. There are around 3,500 kilometres between Germany and Azerbaijan. In the republic between the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus, we were involved in the construction of a processing plant for glass sand.
