14.04.2026: Hands-on Technology: SPANGLER Inspires Students at Children’s ‘University’ in Dietfurt
Deutsch
Töging, April 14, 2026 – Once again, the team from SPANGLER Automation visited the primary and middle school in Dietfurt, introducing around 60 third-grade students to the world of electrical engineering. As part of the “Children’s University,” technology was brought to life where it has the greatest impact: directly in the classroom.
Following an age-appropriate introduction to electricity – covering both its benefits and potential dangers – the students had the opportunity to get hands-on. With great enthusiasm, they built their own voltage and continuity testers and then used them to explore which materials conduct electricity – and which do not. Their curiosity was evident throughout. The self-built testers were sponsored by SPANGLER and could be taken home by the children.
The event was supported, among others, by Johanna Liebl, training supervisor at SPANGLER. She completed her own apprenticeship as an electronics technician at the company and now works in the service team. Through her involvement, she aims to spark young people’s interest in technical careers at an early stage and to showcase the wide range of opportunities in automation technology.
“Bright eyes and great curiosity show us time and again: technology inspires – especially when you can discover it yourself,” was the conclusion of the SPANGLER team. The Children’s University is part of SPANGLER’s commitment to promoting young talent. The goal is to spark early interest in STEM subjects and to reduce barriers or hesitation toward technology. After all, the foundation for future career paths is often laid at a young age.
The underlying concept is simple yet effective: in sessions lasting about one hour, children aged 8 to 9 learn in a playful way where electricity comes from, how it is used, and what risks need to be considered.
